ABOUT THE ONTARIO NETWORK OF EXCELLENCE (ONE)

The Ontario Network of Excellence (ONE) is an innovation system that is responsive to the needs of Ontario's world-leading researchers, entrepreneurs and innovation-based companies. It is designed to provide a comprehensive suite of programs and services across the full continuum from idea-to-market. These programs will be provincially supported and regionally delivered, ensuring that everyone in the province has access to the same high quality resources and expertise, regardless of location.

ONE will be centred on the needs of its clients (researchers and entrepreneurs that are commercializing new approaches and new technologies) and will support the full range of businesses - start-ups, emerging growth companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large domestic and multi-national enterprises - that wish to pursue innovation to create a global competitive advantage and new wealth in Ontario.

The goal of ONE is to improve the Ministry of Research and Innovation's overall service and performance for researchers, entrepreneurs and businesses across the province. It will ensure that no matter where our clients are located in Ontario, they will have access to the programs and services they need to seize global opportunities and succeed in the global marketplace. That means that when an innovator walks into the nearest ONE member's office, they will have access to best practices from around the world, programs linking them to researchers and successful entrepreneurs, and assistance in accessing the funding and advice they need to take their ideas to market.

As much as possible, Ontario's new innovation network will make geography irrelevant. Innovators will have access to expertise just around the block - and right across the province. It won't matter where you are or what stage your idea or business is at. All that will matter is the quality of your idea, the depth of your commitment and your drive to succeed.

ONE is the next step in delivering Ontario's Innovation Agenda (OIA), and the next step in unlocking the tremendous potential and remarkable talent across our province.

For more information about the ONE Network, please visit the ONE Network website or visit the Ministry of Research and Innovation's website.
