Collaborative Commercialization: Market Readiness

A great new technology is ready to make an economic impact in Ontario. But how does it move from the lab to the marketplace?

Ontario’s universities, colleges and hospitals are constantly developing cutting edge solutions to common problems and industry needs. Turning valuable research into a marketable product or service takes planning, expertise and financial support. Ontario Centres of Excellence’s (OCE’s) Market Readiness program helps researchers advance to the next stage of commercialization.

What is Market Readiness?

OCE's Market Readiness program supports the further development of Intellectual Property from Ontario universities, colleges and hospitals, advancing it towards successful commercialization.

The program assists in the various stages towards commercialization with the ultimate goal of transfer to an existing Ontario-based company or the creation of a new Ontario-based business venture. The program enables the transfer by supporting key activities such as technology and market assessment, IP protection, prototype development, business plan development and others.
