To fully unlock our innovation potential, collaboration is essential.
Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) hosts and supports a
variety of events throughout the year that promote the
exchange of knowledge, insight and ideas between academic
researchers, investors, business leaders and entrepreneurs.
What is Knowledge Exchange?
The Knowledge Exchange program encompasses a wide range of
events and activities that provide a focal point for gathering expert
opinion and insight from across the province. By enabling academia
and industry to regularly connect, OCE's Knowledge Exchange
events help bridge the innovation gap and generate an arena of
understanding of what's needed in order for innovation to succeed
commercially.
OCE's annual Discovery conference, various sector-specific workshops
and the Mind to Market Innovation Series provide a unique
forum where industry can shape future research directions and where
academia can learn more about how their research can be transformed
into tomorrow's market-changing businesses. Speakers,
presenters and attendees are also given the opportunity to network
and share their experiences, strategies and vision for Ontario's
innovation economy.

"Coming from the university environment,
this (food-borne pathogen workshop) was an
excellent opportunity to come in contact with
the needs of industry and inspection agencies.
This meeting gave me the opportunity to
consider working on some solutions for the
problem of detection of food pathogens."
Dr. M.G. AbouHaidar, Department of Cell and Systems Biology,
University of Toronto
"The relationship building component that
OCE provides through its Discovery trade
show and various industry events have been a
tremendous benefit to our company."
Scott Monteith, President and CEO,
Monteco Ltd.
"OCE's solar event was very worthwhile. I
was able to connect with six potential new
customers, make new contacts with government
people, as well as meet with some
existing contacts in the industry. Being able
to make all of these contacts in a single event
and location made this event efficient and
very enjoyable."
