It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Ontario Centres of Excellence's website. Reflecting the energy of the emerging culture of innovation in Ontario, our site is designed as a dynamic point of access for the researchers, businesses, investors that together with government are building the province's innovation culture.

A culture of innovation is built upon a culture of collaboration, because innovation is a collaborative endeavor, one that requires the participation of many different people and organizations. OCE recognizes that developing partnerships is critical if innovators are to compete successfully and we are continually strengthening relationships and partnerships] across the innovation sector.

The innovation culture is also an expression of people, their ideas, dreams and passions, they make innovation happen. At OCE we measure our success through the successes of the people and companies we partner with, and it's their stories and achievements that you will find featured throughout our website.

OCE has been accelerating the commercialization of innovation since 1987 and we have evolved a great deal over that time, while never losing sight of our primary function: to drive economic prosperity and growth for Ontario. Our collaborative programs in Research, Commercialization and Talent focus on sectors and technologies key to the province's economic strength and future vitality. And our business development teams, which work out of six Centres of Excellence, bring with them a unique combination of scientific, academic and entrepreneurial expertise. Combing the province's research labs and industry shop floors, they are constantly on the search for the "next big thing."
