Please note that only applications submitted through the applicant portal will be accepted.

Can I still apply to OCE if there isn’t a specific position available that is of interest to me?

We always appreciate receiving resumes of qualified candidates with particular expertise in applied sciences or with specific functional experience. If your experience/skills are suitable, we will forward to the appropriate business unit for their review and consideration for future opportunities.

How does the recruitment process work?

HR and/or a representative from the appropriate business unit will review all resumes submitted in order to identify those candidates that best suit the requirements of a particular position. Those individuals will then be contacted for an initial screening interview with a representative of the appropriate business unit. Depending on the outcome of this interview, candidates may be referred on for a second interview. This interview will be conducted by a cross-disciplinary panel.

What are the hours of operation?

OCE’s core hours of operation are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Employees are expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours a week, though they are provided with a fair degree of flexibility and latitude in respect to their working arrangements. The organization is ultimately focused on outcomes and results, and we treat our employees as mature professionals.

Is there a probationary period at OCE?

Yes, employment is considered probationary until the new employee has successfully completed his/her probationary period, which will typically be 3 months, but can be as much as 6 months of active employment at more senior levels.

At what point do employees become eligible for benefits?

Employees who hold full-time or permanent part-time positions working 21 or more hours weekly, and have successfully completed their probation are eligible for the OCE benefit plans.

How does OCE’s vacation policy work?

OCE provides a generous vacation policy which takes into consideration an employee’s years of full-time work experience, and the level of responsibility held in the organization.

Our vacation benefit operates on an accrual basis with the vacation year beginning on April 1st and ending on March 31st.

Does OCE provide financial support for continuing education?

OCE promotes an environment where continuing education and professional development is strongly encouraged. We believe that employee development offers individuals the opportunity to improve on-the-job performance and prepare them for greater responsibilities within the company.

In support of this philosophy, OCE provides a maximum of $1500.00 annually per person for job related upgrading and accreditation, including the cost of course materials and/or books. In order to qualify, approval must be secured prior to enrollment and must support development requirements clearly defined and agreed upon in advance.

OCE's success is predicated on its ability to recruit and retain highly qualified and motivated people in all areas of the company. We're often on the lookout for new, exceptional talent.
