TORONTO, August 27, 2013 – Discovery, Ontario Centres of Excellence’s annual innovation showcase, has another award to its name.
Having won back-to-back STAR awards for “Best Trade Show” in Canada in 2010 and 2011 in addition to hosting the Guinness World Records-setting speed mentoring event in 2012, Discovery’s 2012 edition was named “Best Meeting/Conference Program (Over $250,000)” by the International Special Events Society on August 24. Discovery bested finalist events from the United States and Germany to take home the honour.
“We are tremendously proud that Discovery has been recognized for its excellence once again,” said OCE president and CEO Dr. Tom Corr. “We know Discovery is an event of the highest quality and it’s nice to see all the hard work that goes in to pulling it together being acknowledged internationally.”
Judging criteria included event management, logistics, purpose, marketing and uniqueness.
