Technical Problem Solving

Companies, whether they’re start-ups, small- or medium-sized businesses, or big business, all have technical challenges that, when solved, can drive new sales and growth. Ontario’s universities and colleges have students and researchers that possess the talent and skill to address these challenges. Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) can connect Ontario companies to this rich talent network.

OCE's Technical Problem Solving program supports short-term projects between industry and academia that address specific technical challenges or opportunities identified by the industry partner that will have a commercial impact. The projects focus on quickly applying research and technical expertise to resolve these challenges and speed innovative products and services to market.

The industry-academia partnerships created from this program extend well beyond commercial impact. Technical Problem Solving helps Ontario companies accelerate their businesses by improving customer satisfaction and increasing sales, while giving students real-world industry experience to help them advance in their career path.
