Experiential Learning

The Experiential Learning Program (ELP) was designed to help students across Ontario with a variety of educational backgrounds get the training and experience they need to turn their ideas into market-ready products and jobs. The program links postsecondary students and recent graduates to industry, leading to new innovations and start-up companies. The program is literally an example of learning by doing.

"What is happening across Ontario is an example of the real potential that exists when we bring industry and academia together to create new products and technologies. Connecting the two is a crucial first step toward success."

- Dr. Tom Corr, President and CEO, Ontario Centres of Excellence

By supporting the entrepreneurial aspirations of Ontario’s students, the ELP helps them get the real-world experience they need to establish new businesses today that will help them become the employers of tomorrow.

"Ontario's students have the ideas and the enthusiasm to create the products, services and good jobs of the future. These two initiatives will help them get the practical experience they need to launch and grow their innovative new businesses."

- Glen Murray, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities
