Success Story

360pi (formerly Gazaro)

Alexander Rink, CEO of 360pi, displays his company's cloud-based platform that's delivering an unprecedented level of price transparency for retailers across North America.

For today’s retailers, searching and comparing competitor’s sale prices for computers, cameras and other electronic items is a time-consuming, expensive and often overwhelming task.

Ottawa start-up, 360pi, has developed a cloud-based platform that delivers an unprecedented level of price transparency to retailers. Using proprietary web-crawling technology, their platform delivers continuous reporting on millions of product price points allowing retailers to gain a competitive advantage.

CCR’s Embedded Executive program enabled 360pi to hire an experienced full-time CEO to explore new applications for their technology and secure additional financing. A CCR Facilitated Access to Capital investment followed, alongside financing from the Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF). 360pi is also participating in OCE’s First Job and NSERC IRDF programs, enabling them to employ highly skilled graduates from Carleton University.

In 2011, 360pi (then called Gazaro) shifted the initial application of the technology from consumers to retailers. Since then, the company has expanded their product offering, garnered numerous top tier global retailers as clients and experienced a 300 per cent jump in revenue.

360pi has received many awards, most recently as a finalist for the 2012 Red Herring 100 North America and Carleton University’s Co-op Employer of the Year.

“We’re hiring highly skilled graduates as a result of the programs that are available to us from OCE that demonstrably increase the quality of the intellectual property we develop and position us at the forefront of our field.”

—Alexander Rink, CEO, 360pi
