The TalentEdge Internship Program (TIP) provides support for current college and university students and recent undergraduate or Masters graduates, to work on industry-driven research and development projects. Companies can tap into world-class talent coming out of Ontario's publicly-funded post-secondary institutions and strengthen their capacity to develop new products, services and processes while interns receive hands-on industry experience and mentorship opportunities.
The TalentEdge Internship Program is open to students and recent graduates from across all disciplines, and all areas of specialization. The TalentEdge Internship Program also has the following sector-specific streams: Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN), ENCQOR 5G and Next Generation Network Program. The TalentEdge Internship Program (TIP) provides support for current college and university students and recent undergraduate or Masters graduates to work on industry-driven research and development projects. Companies can tap into world-class talent coming out of Ontario's publicly-funded post-secondary institutions and strengthen their capacity to develop new products, services and processes while interns receive hands-on industry experience.
The TalentEdge Internship Program is delivered by OCE on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT).
These internships provide interns with real-world industry experience, by applying their expertise, leading-edge knowledge and tools to solve industry problems related to Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) technologies. Interns will work at Ontario-based companies or academic institutions and receive on-the-job training in areas such as software and hardware development, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

The ENCQOR 5G Young Talent Development Program has been designed to curate the next generation of highly skilled talent to focus on 5G, wireless and digital technologies. The internships support students and recent graduates of Ontario universities and colleges. Projects will tap into world-class talent coming out of Ontario's publicly-funded post-secondary institutions and strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises to develop new 5G products, services, and processes.
The Next Generation Networking (NGN) Talent Development stream has been designed to curate the next generation of highly skilled talent for the digital economy sector. Internships support students and recent graduates of Ontario universities and colleges working with small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to develop their skills in NGN technologies. Projects will tap into world-class talent coming out of Ontario's publicly-funded post-secondary institutions and strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises to develop new products, services, and processes in the digital economy.

OCE Contribution
$10,000 per four-month unit for eligible project costs, up to maximum of $60,000 (six units)
Industry Partner Contribution
$10,000 ($5,000 cash plus $5,000 in-kind) minimum per four-month unit
Of the total $20,000 per unit, the intern MUST receive a minimum cash compensation of $10,000 (institution-based internship) or $15,000 (company-based internship). The remainder may be used for direct project costs.

The TalentEdge Internship Program is a discretionary, non-entitlement program with limited funding. All eligible applications undergo a review process where the applications are assessed against program objectives and other criteria. Not all eligible applications will be approved for funding.
